Assistant Project Manager

Crown Technical Systems is a rapidly expanding company in the ever growing electrical power industry. Our main facility is located in Fontana, CA; we have a branch office in Toronto Canada with plans for a second facility in Texas. We are a leader in the design and manufacturing of arc-resistant and non-arc, medium voltage metal clad switchgear, control buildings and enclosures, protective relay panels and more.   • RESPONSIBILITIES
  • KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Will include, but not be limited to:


    • Assist the Project Manager.

    • Assist with the plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.

    • Establishes priorities for specific customer orders.

    • Prepares production reports as deemed by the project manager.

    • Under the direction the Project Manager, revise schedule according to work order specifications, establishes priorities, and availability of parts, material, machines and equipment.

    • Tracks material shortages and prepares a material shortage report.

    • Tracks procurement and production performance.

    • Interfaces and coordinates with various departments to resolve material and capacity constraints.

    • Notifies Production Manager and Project Manager of any issues and overdue material that may jeopardize on-time deliveries to customers.

    • Being innovative, flexible and willing to research new procedures, equipment and process improvements as we grow our operation.

    • Perform other duties as necessary and as assigned by Management.

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years previous experience in a production planning/material control environment.

• Good knowledge of manufacturing and production processes.

• Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Must possess excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.

• Previous experience in a shop type environment a plus.

• Experience in Switchgear, Relay Panel, or Control Building manufacturing is a major plus.

• Ability to function under minimal supervision.

• Experience with MRP system or scheduling software a plus.

• Able to work well with others and maintain a professional environment.

• Good written and oral communication skills required.

• Ability to juggle many projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

• Experience with ISO-9001 Quality Systems is a plus.

• Knowledge of Auto CAD is a plus.
