We are looking for a full time Systems Administrator who will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational requirements. Applicants should display excellent technical problem solving skills, a solid understanding of Windows network operating systems, and general understanding of LAN/WAN networking.

    • Provide System Administration, Helpdesk III support for systems to include, but not limited to, Windows desktops, Scanners, Plotters, Sophos Central, Sophos UTM, Netgear devices, VOIP, Wireless, and Windows 2008r2, 2012r2, 2016r2 Server Operating Systems, Linux Server Operating Systems, Hyper-V, VMWare Server environments.

    • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.

    • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

    • Provide timely technical support and troubleshooting to ensure continuity of systems operation for both internal users as well as remote users.

    • Manages, prioritizes, and completes tasks in a timely manner using a ticketing system

    • Work within an inventory management system to maintain hardware tracking/visibility.

    • Create and maintain documentation related to troubleshooting, system configurations, internal IT procedures, and end user procedures.

    • Assist in testing applications, service packs, and patches prior to corporate wide release.

    • Maintain communication with department manager by following up with identifying, resolving and mitigating issues.

    • Functions as a lead worker doing performing tasks similar to those within the department; responsibility for training, instruction, setting the work pace, and possibly evaluating performance.

    • Four to six years directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.

    • Microsoft Active Directory concepts including user and group management, OU design, file permissions, user rights management, and Group Policy

    • Microsoft Exchange management concepts such as recipient policies, storage groups, SMTP virtual servers, and security

    • Hands on experience in LAN administration that includes network storage and host virtualization.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of network user management; remote login; security control and anti-virus/spam measurement.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

    • In place of the above, candidates may demonstrate possession of equivalent and relevant combinations of experience, education, and training that establishes an ability to perform essential functions.


    Other information:

    Work such as maintenance and upgrades must often be done by the systems administrator during evenings, weekends, and holidays to minimize disruptions. The systems administrator may also be asked to work on short notice in emergency conditions.
