Clark Public Utilities requested one outdoor Enclosure, housing two independent 15 kV Metal-clad Switchgear lineups connected through a tie breaker and bus duct.
The enclosure contains a communication panel, one AC panel-board, one battery bank, and two DC panel-boards.
The Metal-clad Switchgear consists of two 2,000 A main breakers, one 2,000 A tie breaker, eight 1,200 A feeder breakers, eight 1,200 A transfer bus switches, twelve 7,200/120 V PT’s and two 37.5 KVA single phase 7,200-120/240 V CPT’s, and one 2,000 A dummy breaker.
Both sides of the building are cantilevered off the foundation to allow easier installation of field cables. Two of the four walls are 2-hour fire rated from exposure of a fire from the outside of the building.
Crown used split system heat pumps on this building. These units are quieter, provide more interior wall space, and have a sleeker look than the wall mount units.
This building incorporated five bus support structures on top of the roof to help run the incoming bus from the field transformers.
The Switchgear enclosure was delivered to King Substation, Vancouver, WA in July 2020.
